The Slavonic adheres fundamentally to the norms of Russian Church Slavonic, avoiding pleophonic forms where metathesized ones are available, etc., though vernacular words are not entirely excluded, e.g. чрепаха beside зелвъ. Ukrainian influence is evident in certain lexical items (e.g. довтѣб, похибныи) and in the confusion of иand ы. The writer appears to have been fully competent in both Church Slavonic and Latin
