                        <note>Alongside each of the initial forms of the letters are numerous
                            (sometimes over 50) exclusively <hi>skoropis'</hi> forms of the same
                            letter in black ink, mostly of ordinary size. Exceptions to this pattern
                            are <foreign xml:lang="cu">ж</foreign>, which is placed in the middle of
                            the paper at the same level as <foreign xml:lang="cu">е</foreign>, so
                            that forms of each letter take up half the width of the page, and
                                <foreign xml:lang="cu">ѵ</foreign>, which is also placed in the
                            middle of the paper, but under the small black forms of itself, of which
                            there are only three. Forms of <foreign xml:lang="cu">ѫ</foreign>, are
                            included with <foreign xml:lang="cu">ю</foreign> and forms of <foreign xml:lang="cu">ѧ</foreign> with <foreign xml:lang="cu">ꙗ</foreign>.
                            In most, but not all cases the name of the letter is included amongst
                            the <hi>skoropis'</hi> forms; frequently there are also examples of the
                            letter written in conjunction with others, or in common words, e.g.
                                <foreign xml:lang="cu">въ, лъ, ѯа, вл<seg rend="sup">д</seg>кѡ,
                                    мл<seg rend="sup">с</seg>ть</foreign>. Three letters: <foreign xml:lang="cu">а</foreign>, <foreign xml:lang="cu">в</foreign> and
                                <foreign xml:lang="cu">г</foreign> are provided with
                                <hi>propisi</hi>.</note>
