Ff. 1–1v, 4v, 86–86v, 88v, 141v, 228, and 292 are blank. there are 31 ll. on f. 293 and 22 ll. on ff. 294–302 but the written area remains the same. Black; red for rubrics and in the lectionaries for initials; running titles, punctuation and some initials overwritten in gold (not after f. 294); index numbers and some initials in blue. Luxurious, in neo-Byzantine style, with a rich palette of gold, dark blue, dark and light green, bright red and pink; white is used for modeling the carnation and the ornament; the miniature and the ornaments are painted on golden backgrounds. f. 292v:Full-page portrait of the donor, representing Jacob Metropolitan of Serres offering his Gospel to Christ; Jacob is bowing to right, behind a lectern with the closed volume upon it; Christ, blessing from above and holding a wind up red roll is represented in knee-length within a celestial segment coloured in blue; His nimbus is signed with a red cross; the upper part of the miniature, separated by a thin red line, is decorated with a diaper pattern with floral motifs, signifying God’s presence and the heavenly Kingdom (Цветкович 2009: 5–6); in it is situated a circle in which is the prayer of Jacob: смѣрены митрополит, сѣра град и сртанамь ѥг. кїр і̇акѡ̑в̑ си̏и че́творобл҃говѣстни окь прїношꙋ ти вь дарь влдко мои хе҃. f. 2:A band with rinceaux on golden background, with small trefoils at the corners. f. 5:Rectangle, 75 120 ; decoration with vegetal pattern, signifying the Garden of Eden: fine stem circumscribes alternate bigger and smaller circles and cross-like figures between them; large floral-petal palmette motifs fill in the circles while smaller ones fill in the rest of the figures; Sassanian palmettes at the corners and at the middle of the upper frame. f. 87:Narrow band, decorated by coffer pattern with inscribed rosettes and with palmettes at the ends. f. 89:Pylae of the arched type, 85 115 , the title is under the arch; decoration with vegetal pattern, signifying the Garden of Eden: fine foliate stem circumscribes two bigger and two smaller circles; a pair of birds is inscribed in the bigger ones; palmette patterns fill in the smaller circles and the area around; Sassanian palmettes at the corners and at the middle of the upper frame. f. 142:A narrow band with a geometric, three-step-like motif and small vegetal motifs at the ends. f. 145:Frame, 85 115 , with vegetal pattern, signifying the Garden of Eden; an open circle cut off from the lower line frames the title; two small circles are cut off at the upper line; fine foliate stem is circumscribing two big and four small circles, and a trefoil-like pattern; within the figures are inscribed four pairs of birds. f. 228v:Bar, with two knot motifs, a central motif and four palmette endings. f. 229:Frame; the title is within a cut off quatrefoil; decoration with vegetal pattern, signifying the Garden of Eden; fine foliate stem circumscribes four big circles, each with three smaller inscribed ones, all filled in by floral-petal palmettes; small trefoliate palmettes fill in the heart-shaped figures between the circles; on top of the headpiece a fine flourishing cross with the inscription I҃С̑ Х҃С́ НЇКА; Sassanian palmettes at the corners. f. 294:Pylae, with vegetal pattern, of round medallions with palmette patterns, alternating with large floral-petal palmette motifs and small trefoils.

Large initials: smulticoloured, outlined with gold.

f. 5:Letter K, six lines, interlaced, in the mixed neo-Byzantine and Balkan interlaced style. f. 89:Letter З, six lines, interlaced, in Balkan interlaced style. f. 145:Letter П, 5,5 lines, jointed, with elements of the Byzantine (Constantinopolitan) floral-petal style. f. 229:Letter B, seven lines, jointed, in Byzantine (Constantinopolitan) floral-petal style.

Small initials: painted with blue.

 Ornamented letters red letters А, Г, Ѕ, Ѳ, rubricating the Hours, in the manner of the pen-flourished neo-Byzantine initials of King Milutin type, with rich vegetal and foliate patterns; in the margins of ff. 5, 28v, 69v, 89, 107, 125v, 145, 162, 178, 195, 212, 229, 245v, 260. f. 85v:A hand holding a furcate branch. f. 141 and 227v:A cross (or star)-like linear motif composed of small fine tendrils. Majuscules, composing refined Ligaturschrift, written in gold and with simple decoration of foliate patterns. Small linear cross-shaped patterns of fine tendrils and buds, drawn in gold and forming the ends of the title-pieces; the title at the Chapters in Matth. is written on red. f. 302v:Table of the Tones, outlined with red and decorated with palmette patterns. Recent (? 19th c.), crimson velvet on boards, 325 230 , spine a little insecure. Kalist A fine low uncial, 5 mm of height ( 12 mm between lines); ff. 294–302v use a somewhat, and ff. 293–293v a considerably smaller hand of the same type ( 4 mm line, 4 mm between lines). Old Church Slavonic. One-jer (ь, with occasional usage of ъ), non-jus. The Four Gospels, without prefaces, but each preceded by a table of contents giving parallel passages, the number of each item of which is given in blue in the margin as it occurs in the text of the gospel. Pericopes and their opening words are indicated in the body of the text, but their numbers are given in the margin in red.
